Jesus said to His disciples in Matthew 28:18-20:
All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
While our website serves an important element of the Great Commission of Jesus Christ, it is only possible to fulfill half of what Jesus commanded in the above instruction.
Evangelism – a practice whereby Christians spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to sinners – is a critical aspect to the Great Commission, but an equally important aspect is the discipling of new converts (teaching Christians to obey all that Christ has commanded us).
True and meaningful discipleship cannot take place on the internet, so it is essential for you to find a faithful church, come under godly leadership, and surround yourself with godly people that you might learn all of the implications of the gospel of the grace of God. This page, then, serves to help you find a local church that you might indeed grow in the knowledge and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The following sermon titled, The Kind of Church You Need to be Part of, was delivered by Pastor Steve Lawson at the 2012 Resolved Conference. The message is extremely helpful as it answers the following questions:
What is the model church? What are the characteristics of a faithful church? Where should you worship? Is your church God-centered, Christ-exalting, and Gospel-driven? How do you know if it is? What do you do if it’s not?
These are important questions to ask considering the man-centeredness of the postmodern church landscape that is devoid of truth and sound doctrine. It is imperative Christians gather for worship in churches with a high view of God, a high view of Scripture, and a proper view of man. Only then are Christians in a place of worship that most glorifies our Sovereign Lord, most edifies God’s people, and most equips us for the work of Gospel ministry through the teaching of sound doctrine and a biblical understanding of discipleship.
